New Sprayer Technology Allows Application In 25 Mph Winds

Argentinian sprayer comes in six models up to one with 1,320-gallon capacity.

Pla is a new entry in the sprayer market for U.S. farmers and was introduced recently at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.

The Argentinian-made sprayer comes in six models with tanks ranging from 750 gallons up to 1,320 gallons. Pla sprayers can be equipped with the Degania wind tunnel. A turbine at the center of the boom pressurizes the canvas sleeves to force liquid into the crop. Pla says this allows applicators to spray in up to 25-mph winds.

The Map II 4000 model, equipped with a 1,050-gallon tank and a 90 foot boom, retails for approximately $275,000. Contact American Resources Limited, Lake Mills, Iowa, at (641) 592-1212. Or, visit Pla's website at
