John Deere's new rotary cutters can be adjusted from two to nine inches and feature deeper cutting chambers to allow more efficient "exhaust" of cut residue -- from stalks to grass.
The HX6 and HX7 (six- and seven-feet working widths) are equipped with gearboxes rated at 150 horsepower with peak bursts to 210 hp. A blade pan offers more protection for the gearbox, and the new design allows operating speeds up to 5 miles per hour, and the ability to cut materials up to 3 inches in diameter.

The new double deck design prevents water and residue from building up on the upper side, eliminating wet, rust-causing mats from damaging the cutters, and making the machines easier to clean after the job is done.
The machines have a three-point clevis-type hitch and have been improved for easier height adjustments.
The HX6 and HX7 are perfectly matched to Deere's new 5 and 6 Series Tractors.
