A new solution to 8-row planter transport is the heart of Great Plains Mfg's new YP-825R (rotating) planter, a machine that runs in the field on tough skid-steer tires, but rotates up and around for a less-than-12-foot transport width.

The YP-825R's mainframe rotates on the hitch to narrow the transport to 11-feet, 10 inches. The machine can be set up for 22", 30" and 30"-twin-row management.

Each row holds a 1.6-bushel poly seed box. Seed is gravity fed from the boxes to the Air-Pro Meters which use positive pressure for accurate seed singlation before the seed is "dead dropped" through the plastic seed tube for excellent uniform spacing.

The planter features a shorter than traditional hitch for maneuverability in tight corners on and on headlands. It runs a 6-inch air-seeder hydraulic fan especially adapted for use on older tractors that don't provide a return hydraulic line.

The machine is also dry or liquid fertilizer capable.

Prices start at $46,299.
