NCBA President-Elect Resigns

Health issues force resignation.

National Cattlemen's Beef Association President-elect Paul Hitch, a rancher from Guymon, Okla., has resigned his position due to cancer.

"Paul gave a great deal of consideration to this decision and felt it was in the best interest of his family and the industry that he vacate the position and dedicate himself to his treatments," said John Queen, president of NCBA and cattle producer from Waynesville, N.C. "Paul’s leadership in the industry and in NCBA is undeniable. We thank Paul for his service, and our prayers are with him and his family."

Andy Grosetta, NCBA vice president, fills the office of president-elect. The rancher from Cottonwood, Ariz. will assume the presidency at the NCBA annual meeting in Reno this February. The vice president position will remain vacant until a new slate of officers is presented at the annual meeting.
