The National Holstein Convention continues with a day of Wisconsin fun on Tuesday, June 24 after it kicks off on Monday, June 23 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Tuesday will be a day visitors to Wisconsin will surely not want to miss.
There are several options for Holstein enthusiasts to view the fantastic Wisconsin countryside and explore the area around the dells. Busses will board for farm tours at 7 a.m., and tour attendees will visit Frozene Farms and the Tom and Rick Frozene families, Maple Lawn Farm and the Tom and Teri Lyon family, Rosedale and Mark Rueth and Nicky Reape, So-Fine Bovines, LLC and the Jeff Buchholz and Jim Kruger families, and Walk-Era Farm, Inc. and the Dean, Doris, John, Marci, Tim, Tracy, and Tom Walker families.
Hosting lunch on the farm tours will be the Tom Lyon family and Maple Lawn farm. Lunch will be provided by Animart and milk and water will be sponsored by Swiss Valley farms and Cooperative Resources International (Genex/CRI). Igenity will provide busses.
Those choosing to forego farm tours can take a scenic boat ride down the Wisconsin River or spend the day at the Mount Olympus theme park. While at the park, visitors can also take a side trip to ride the "Wild Thing" jet boat ride.
Also taking place is the golf outing at the Baraboo Country Club. The tournament will feature 18 holes of championship golf, and cost to golf includes cart and lunch. Rental clubs will be available, and the tournament will be played in a shotgun start and best-ball scramble style with hole prizes. Individuals or teams can play, and juniors are welcome to join this event as well.
Tuesday evening the National Convention Live Sale will be held at Heatherstone Enterprises in Baraboo, WI, with the meal beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the sale starting at 6 p.m. Heatherstone will have an open house beginning at noon on sale day. Accelerated Genetics is a major sponsor of a meal that will kick off a fantastic evening of selling Wisconsin and the surrounding areas finest. Vita Plus will be providing feed for sale animals, and Misty Meadows will be providing shavings for this event. Culvers will sponsor ice cream for all, and Menards will be sponsoring parking.
