More Investors Sought for North Prairie Biodiesel Plant

Company has raised 43% of its goal.

The company working to build Wisconsin's first biodiesel plant in Rock County says it has raised nearly half of the money needed to start breaking ground on the project. North Prairie Productions, LLC announced that they have raised $10.7 million through its equity drive across the state. That accounts for about 43% of its entire goal.

NPP has hosted 20 meetings in the first round of its equity drive in September. Company Vice President Jeff Pieterick says investors are encouraged to get their subscription agreements filed with the NPP office as soon as they can.

"This campaign to date has been highly successful, both for the number of potential investors who attended our meetings and for the steady momentum it has created in attracting investment to this project," Pieterick says. "As word of the project circulates, we receive a steady stream of phone calls to the office from people who are considering investing in NPP."

In August, NPP unveiled its plan to construct a $42 million biodiesel production facility in Evansville that will produce up to 45 million gallons of biodegradable, biodiesel fuel per year. The company expects to have the plant operational in 2007.

Meanwhile, a limited number of meetings have been scheduled for a second round in the equity drive. For a list of meeting locations or to find out more information about the project, go to: www.npnrg.com.
