Mobile Scouting Tool 'in Hand'

Mobile Scouting Tool 'in Hand'

New Rev!ID is available as a way for scouts to track and share farm data for better results.

For 2013, more companies are turning to super mobile tools - like the iPad - to collect and share information. One company - Rev!ID - is launching a centralized tool for scouts and ag retailers to use to capture field information and synchronize that with existing customer records. The company calls the product the first to be a mobile-all-in-one-tool to scout more than 300 crops. It also tracks and identifies more than 1,500 issue types. And the system is designed so that crop consultants, growers, retailers and field scouts can work independently or together from Rev!ID.

SUPER SCOUT? New Rev!ID app allows scouts to manage data from different systems and collect data in new ways.

In addition the company has partnered with SST Software using the company's agX issue and crop taxonomy date. The application synchs with boundary providers including SST Summit; or you can draw your own field lines or upload a shape file - .shp - to the system. This gives Rev!ID users more flexibility in managing files as they scout fields. Rev!ID can be downloaded from the iTunes store. Use costs 1-cent per acre and $25/month.
