Meat and Poultry Hotline Open on Thanksgiving

Experts are ready to answer last minute questions about preparing your Thanksgiving meal.

All of the food safety experts at the USDA's Meat and Poultry Hotline will be at their posts Thursday answering questions about preparing the Thanksgiving meal.

Diane Van, who helps run the hotline, says they receive about 1000 calls on Thanksgiving Day. The hotline will be open to answer questions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern. Questions about safe preparation of your holiday meal should be directed to the hotline at 1-888-MP Hotline.
