MDA Hosts Nutrient Efficiency, Management Conference

MDA Hosts Nutrient Efficiency, Management Conference

Learn the latest from Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota speakers, plus a producer/crop consultant panel.

Farmers and ag professionals will hear about the latest research and techniques at a Nutrient Efficiency and Management Conference held on February 15, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton.

The conference brings together agricultural supply and service consultants; growers; university extension specialists; crop advisers; researchers; and local, state and federal government officials.

Nutrient efficiency will be the focus of this year's conference. With volatile fertilizer prices and increased commodity prices, this will be an excellent opportunity to network with others who are interested in maximizing efficiency for profit enhancement and risk reduction.

Participants will have their choice of speakers from Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. Topics include: basics of soil phosphorous, soil test interpretation, evaluation of fertilizer additives, drainage technology research, nutrient and water quality research, high production efficiency, limits on banded fertilizer and Discovery Farm outcomes. A farmer and crop consultant panel will provide discussion about innovative on farm nutrient management. A variety of other topics and information will be made available through a poster session.

Certified Crop Advisers---This will be an excellent opportunity to obtain continuing education credits for soil and water and nutrient management. There will also be an opportunity to showcase how your organization, business or research promotes nutrient efficiency for agricultural production and water quality via poster session. Follow the registration link to learn more.

Sponsors for the event include: Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center, University of Minnesota Extension, Minnesota Crop Production Retailers, Minnesota Independent Crop Consultants, Minnesota Corn Growers, Minnesota Soybean Growers, Agrium, Mosaic and Nutra-Flo.
