McFarlane Mfg. Co. auctioned off an Incite 5000 Series Universal Tillage Tool on the second day of Farm Progress Show. Norm Burgeson, sales manager for McFarlane, says proceeds from the sale of the unit will be donated to the Sauk Prairie Operation Eagles’ Wings Heroes for Honor Program.

Several online bids came in prior to the close, but Mark Wyttenbach from Sauk City, Wisconsin, placed the winning bid of $26,000.

The unit was built to help support the Sauk Prairie Badger Flight scheduled for the end of September. Burgeson says McFarlane’s factory personnel donated their time for manufacturing and assembly. Supplier donations and cash contributions from McFarlane’s employees, customers, and other industry contacts helped offset the manufacturing costs.

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s Veterans by transporting them to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Proceeds from the sale will help ensure the Honor Flight is possible. The Honor Flight Network works hard to offer the flight at no charge to veterans.

Burgeson wasn’t surprised that the winning bid came from Sauk City, home of McFarlane Mfg. And the winning bidder gets a unique new tillage tool.

The Incite 5000 Series Universal Tillage Tool was launched at the National Farm Machinery show in 2015. The tool can run as a vertical tillage tool, high-speed shallow depths, but can run it deeper as well, like a traditional disc. It can also serve as a cultivator.
