Many new farm products simplify harvest, make life easier

Many new farm products simplify harvest, make life easier
Crop watch 2015: Someone just introduced an easier way to move an auger sideways to hit the hole at the top of the bin

Our editorial team found about 250 new products at farm shows this fall. More than 10% of them related to easier ways to get grain in the bin and monitor it once it is in there. Here is a sneak peek of one new product that you might want to investigate now, before the season is over. You can find the rest in articles coming this fall and winter in the magazine you receive at home each month.

Crop Watch 10/5: Calibrate yield monitors during harvest season

Crop watch 2015: Someone just introduced an easier way to move an auger sideways to hit the hole at the top of the bin

One that caught our eye nearly eliminates the frustration of being just a hair or two off when you're trying to line up the auger and get it positioned correctly over the opening in the top of the grain bin. Sometimes you may be off even more than a hair or two. In either case dealing with it is frustrating, time consuming, and can be both back-breaking and a bit dangerous in certain situations.

The new product that might help you out of these jams is called the Auger Ace from Yetter Manufacturing Company. Known more as a short line supplier of residue removing products and all types of fertilizer coulters, this product is a fit if you move augers during harvest.

It attaches to almost any auger and uses an easy-to-use system to help you move the auger side to side so you can line up the auger with the hole where grain will enter at the top of the bin. Cut your frustration and time lost in half or more by installing this simple device on the auger.

Crop Watch 10/2: Should you harvest corn or harvest soybeans now?

See if it helps make that chore less frustrating and gets you back to unloading corn, and then back to the field, in less time and in better spirits. Check it out at the Yetter Website.
