ABS Global has hired Leah Johnson as Midwest Cornerstone Specialist.
"Leah's exceptional ability to work with dairy breeders, as well as provide accurate evaluations and effective service will make her an asset to the Cornerstone team," says Josey Morris, U.S. Progeny Promotions Supervisor. "We look forward to having Leah work with ABS customers in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri."
Johnson grew up on a 130-cow dairy in LaCrescent, Minn. After graduating from University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2007, she spent nearly four years with the American Jersey Cattle Association as their Central Plains area representative and type appraiser.
In her previous role with the American Jersey Cattle Association, Johnson managed a six-state membership area while growing registration numbers, participating in sale selection and animal preparation and linear scoring cows across the nation.
As Midwest Cornerstone Specialist at ABS Global, Johnson will be responsible for assisting field staff with education and promotion of developing new herds, as well as working with staff to evaluate and maintain data in herds already participating in the ABS Cornerstone™ program. She will also be responsible for on-farm evaluation and coordinating and assisting with picturing of ABS sired progeny. Johnson will also be arranging and conducting ABS daughter and herd tours.
Johnson's role will include covering territory in Wisconsin (with the exception of northwestern Wisconsin), eastern Iowa, northern Illinois and all of Missouri.
