Kohler Big Twin Meets CARB Standards

Kohler Big Twin Meets CARB Standards

New twin-cylinder gasoline Kohler engine meets CARB requirements with air injection.

Kohler Engines has launched a 999-cc California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliant engine, which uses a Secondary Air Injection (SAI) system to meet the latest emissions standards in all 50 U.S. states.

Kohler's unique SAI system injects air into the engine's exhaust manifold to significantly minimize pollutants and enhance overall engine performance. The powerful and easy-to-maintain new 999 cc twin is ideal for use in a wide range of commercial applications, including agricultural tractors, lawn tractors, pumps, rollers, generators and other power equipment.

Kohler has introduced this 999 cc twin cylinder engine to meet California Air Resources Board emission standards with an air-injection system into the exhaust flow.

"We're excited to bring a new option of higher-powered engine to market that meet the most stringent air-quality standards while also delivering unequaled Kohler performance in the field," said Justin Blount, director of marketing for Kohler Engines. "Of course, we also placed a premium on fuel efficiency and durability when designing these engines, so end users can rest assured knowing they've made an incredibly solid investment that's easy on their wallet and the environment."

The air-injection system joins closed-loop electronic fuel injection being offered on some Kohler models, along with a four-cylinder diesel Kohler/Lombardini in expanding the company's offerings in small industrial engines.

OEMs and end users interested in additional details are encouraged to connect with their Kohler sales representative for specific pricing and availability.
