Invest In South Dakota Wind Project

Meetings about community-owned project continues across state this week.

"It's an excellent opportunity to invest in South Dakota, and to get into the future of energy production on the ground level," says Doug Smobke, president, South Dakota Farmers Union, of a community wind project that's getting off the ground in the state.

The South Dakota Wind Partners LLP continues to hold investors meetings this week in an attempt to raise $16 million. The organization includes South Dakota Farmers Union, South Dakota Farm Bureau, East River Electric Power Cooperative and the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council

The minimum investment is $15,000. The meeting schedule this week is:

Aug. 9, 2 p.m. Watertown Event Center (1901 9th Ave SW)
Aug. 9, 7 p.m. Aberdeen Ramada Inn (2727 6th Ave)
Aug. 10, 2 p.m. Madison Playhouse (820 N Washington)
Aug. 10, 7 p.m. Brookings Day's Inn (2500 E 6th St)
Aug. 11, 2 p.m. Lennox High School Cafetorium
Aug. 11, 7 p.m. Sioux Falls Ramkota (3200 W. Maple)
Aug. 12, 7 p.m. Rapid City Holiday Inn (508 N 5th St)

 

The 7-turbine project is going to be located near Mitchell, S.D.
