Horse owners who are looking for more information on the care of the hoof as well as general information on the anatomy of the hoof are encouraged to attend the Horse Hoof Care workshop scheduled for March 24 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol.
The workshop focuses on the foot of the horse; the anatomy of the foot, the physiology of how the foot functions, and how to properly care for the foot. Several of the common foot disorders will be discussed, including prevention strategies and typical treatment strategies used by veterinarians. A question and answer period will follow.
Cassie Torhorst, who is a veterinary student at UW-Madison, will be the speaker for this program. Costs for the program are $15 per person or $25 for two adults and $5 per youth if registered by March 20. Costs after March 20 are $25 per person or $35 for two adults and $15 per youth. Refreshments will be served.
