Half A Century Of Spracoupe Coming To An End

Half A Century Of Spracoupe Coming To An End

AGCO dropping SpraCoupe line in May citing dwindling demand and Tier 4 emission requirements.

Reduced numbers of smaller farms and emission control requirements are being blamed for the planned end of SpraCoupe production in May.

Agco's Mark Sharitz says production of all 2013 models, including the 4460, 4660, 7460 and 7660, will run through May and replacement part production will continue after that. Sharitz says a changing marketplace, namely the growing number of larger farms along with the expense of meeting Tier 4 emission standards, "makes it impractical to continue the SpraCoupe brand beyond 2013."

Sharitz says Agco's commitment to the application industry remains strong in the company's RoGator and TerraGator branded machines.

A 50-year run for SpraCoupe comes to an end in May as AGCO shifts its emphasis to larger sprayers.
