Grassland The Official Butter Of Badger Dairy Club Cheese Stand

Grassland The Official Butter Of Badger Dairy Club Cheese Stand
Cheese sandwiches are Badger Dairy Club's main fundraiser and cost only $2 each.

This year, Wisconsin's own Grassland Dairy Products will be the butter of choice used to make the ever-popular Badger Dairy Club grilled cheese sandwiches. Found only at World Dairy Expo, Oct. 1-5 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison is the classic, fresh-from-the-skillet grilled cheese sandwich.

Badger Dairy Club makes 20,000 grilled cheese sandwiches during World Dairy Expo.

Among the many products, demonstrations, seminars and cattle judging, great food is easy to find. Located at the Badger Dairy Club Cheese Stand is a fan favorite; grilled cheese sandwiches made with three simple Wisconsin ingredients: butter, cheese and bread. These delectable sandwiches are created by UW-Madison students and funds generated from the stand support students and staff attending dairy conferences and events throughout the school year.

"We use 500 pounds of butter to make more than 20,000 sandwiches over the course of the five-day show," says Susie Hodgson, co-chair of the Badger Dairy Club Cheese Stand and a senior majoring in Food Science at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. "We are excited to work with Grassland Dairy Products and World Dairy Expo this year to continue the tradition of the mouthwatering grilled cheese sandwich."

The Badger Dairy Club Cheese Stand, located next to the Arena Building, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the show. The stand features grilled cheese sandwiches made with real Wisconsin Cheddar or Swiss cheese for $2 each. Chocolate milkshakes, milk and orange juice are also available.
