It is not too late to sign up for the Kansas Feed and Grain Association Grain Handlers Workshop coming up Wednesday in Salina and Thursday in Dodge City.
Topics to be covered in the workshops will include sampling, scab and mold damage, identifying damaged kernels, new sorghum standards, grain elevator operations costs, grain quality maintenance, new research on insect control and aeration.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. both days, with the program from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Sponsors are the Kansas State University Grain Science and Industry department, the Kansas Grain Inspection Service and K-State Extension entomology.
Cost is $75 for members and $135 for non-members.
The Salina event is at the Holiday Inn Express, 201 E. Diamond and the Dodge City event Thursday is at the Dodge House, 2408 W. Wyatt Earp Blvd.
