We've got a race for ag commissioner in North Dakota.
Doug Goehring, the incumbent, who Gov. John Hoeven appointed to the position when Roger Johnson resigned to become president of the National Farmers Union last year, recently announced that he will seek the seat. He's a Republican.
State Rep. Merle Boucher, Rolette, recently recently the Democratic nomination to be ag commissioner. He's been in the state House for 20 years and will be giving up his seat as minority leader.
Both men operate or own a farm or ranch.
