Follow This Map to Farm Tour

Big event slated for Tuesday, Wednesday.

Don't miss out on the '09 Indiana Farm Management Tour. If it's still too wet to hit the field, hit the road instead. The tips you pick up from seeing how other people do things could help you do things more efficiently, save bucks, grow bigger yields, or all three.

This year's tour is in LaPorte and Starke Counties. It begins at 2 p.m. EDT or 1 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 23. See the map to find where the first farm is located.

Since it's an on-your-own driving tour, you can take in as many or as few sites as you like. The evening stop is at the Pinney-Purdue farm near Wanatah, and will feature a tour of the farm plus a program on farm programs.

Chris Hurt will present an ag outlook a the last stop on Wednesday afternoon. One year ago at the noon stop in Bartholomew County, he discussed $7 corn and $14 soybean prices, and what the future might hold. Like most experts, he didn't see the sharp downturn ahead. Expect the price levels he discusses to be more reasonable, on a historical basis, this time around.
