The first threat of frost is in the forecast for North Dakota this week.
As of Friday, no of the corn in the state had reach maturity, according to the North Dakota Agricultural Statistics Service.
On average, 36% of the state’s corn has been mature at this date, NDASS reportd.
Canola harvest progressed to 67% complete.
The flaxseed harvest is 42% complete.
Dry edible beans had 78% of its acreage in the lower leaves yellowing and beyond stage, 48% with dropping leaves and 10% of the crop had been cut.
Potatoes were 69% with vines killed and 16% dug compared with the average of 41% dug.
Soybeans had 66% of their acreage in the lower leaves yellowing stage and 27% in the dropping leaves stage, both behind last year and the average.
The sunflower crop had 55% of their acreage in the bracts turned yellow stage and beyond, behind the average of 77%, while 9% were in the bracts turned brown stage, behind the average of 39%.
