Fifth workshop will look at margins in ag supply chain.

USDA and the Department of Justice will hold the last in a series of five workshops Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the USDA South building in Washington, D.C. This workshop is focused on the margins at various levels of the agricultural supply chain. Featured will be four panels composed of producers, academics and other industry stakeholders.

The first panel includes participants at each level of the agricultural supply chain. The second panel will focus on margins in the dairy industry. The third panel of the day will look at issues in the retail sector. And the final panel will discuss margins in the livestock and poultry industries.  There will be two hours dedicated to public testimony, split into two sessions, one at mid-day and the other after the final panel.

Opening remarks begin at 8:30 a.m. EST.  The workshop is expected to end by 5:00 p.m. EST. Attendance is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending the workshop should register at www.surveymonkey.com/s/marginsworkshop.
