E85 is made with up to 85% ethanol. United Cooperative sources 100% of its ethanol supply from its affiliate, United Ethanol in Milton. E85 has many added benefits, including reducing our dependence on foreign oil and supporting local economies. The American Lung Association in Wisconsin recognizes E85 as a Clean Air Choice for its role in reducing harmful emissions that cause lung disease.
A single flex-fuel vehicle driver who fills up on E85 every time they are at the pump can reduce CO2, or carbon dioxide (a primary contributor to global climate change) by four tons each year.
Flex-fuel vehicles are typically designated by a yellow gas cap or a label inside the fuel door as an indication. Drivers who are uncertain whether their vehicles can use E85 can visit www.cleanairchoice.org to learn more.
