The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Food Export Association of the Midwest are co-hosting a seminar to assist Michigan food companies in learning the steps for entering international markets. The seminar, "Prepare for Export Success," is Aug. 9 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing. The seminar is designed to enhance Michigan companies' knowledge of exporting and how to become "export ready."
Topics for the seminar will include: understanding how to follow up with trade leads, creating a competitive export quotation, various payment methods in international trade, and mitigating the risk and financing of export sales. Dennis Lynch, Food Export Helpline counselor for Food Export Association of the Midwest, will present on a wide range of exporting issues. Martha Gabrielse, Vice President of Global Trade Service at JPMorgan Chase, will discuss logistics to getting paid for your exports.
Seminar registration ends July 26, and costs $50. All pre-registered attendees will receive: a top 25 export market report for their product, workshop handouts, and Global Food Marketer, Food Export- Midwest's and Food Export Northeast's newsletter.
