EPA Clears Justice Insecticide For Soybean Use

EPA Clears Justice Insecticide For Soybean Use

Gowan and Nisso America will cooperatively market the new dual-mode premix.

Soybean growers have a new tool to fight aphids, and other labeled pests with better resistance management in Justice insecticide, a dual-mode premix formulation.

Gowan Co., LLC and Nisso America announced the registration of the product, noting Gowan will have the exclusive rights to market Justice in the United States.

Justice contains a neonicotinoid for aphid control and acetamiprid and bifenthrin for fast knockdown of labeled insect pests. The different modes of action make resistance management easier with fewer escapes per application.

Justice will be marketed as a liquid oil flowable formulation that allows both active ingredients to remain in their most biologically active form, say Gowan officials. The foliar-applied insecticide is used at rates ranging from 2.5-3.0 fluid ounces per acre. It has a 30-day preharvest interval, a 12-hour restricted entry level, and a 0-day plant back interval for soybeans, and a 30-day plant back interval for all other crops.

The new preparation is also approved for chemigation, ground rig and aerial applications.
