EPA Approves New Sunflower Herbicide

New Spartan Advance herbicide from FMC Corporation is now available for use in sunflowers.

It is especially powerful in controlling broadleaf weeds preemergence such as kochia that can rob the soil of moisture and nutrients, according to a FMC statemwent.

In addition, the dual-action formula provides early postemergence grass control.

You can use Spartan Advance in combination with Aim herbicide for more complete control of broadleaf weeds, including glyphosate-tolerant and resistant varieties such as small "puffball" kochia.

Apply Spartan Advance at rates ranging from 21 to 46 ounces per acre depending on soil type, organic matter, soil pH and/or weed pressure.
