The Viroqua FFA Chapter focuses on serving its community and this year's special service is raising money for AgrAbility, an Easter Seals Wisconsin program, in partnership with UW-Extension. AgrAbility is a program that helps farmers who become disabled (many times in farm-related accidents) to farm again and helps farmers with chronic, debilitating conditions, such as arthritis to continue farming. There have been farmers in our area served by this program and the Viroqua FFA Chapter would like to help more farmers to continue farming.
During this fall harvest season, farmers can donate a bushel or more of their corn or soybean crop to assist the Viroqua FFA Grain Drive. All proceeds will go to the Wisconsin Easter Seals AgrAbility program.
For farmers who are interested in supporting this cause, the Viroqua FFA Chapter will set up a time to pick up your corn or soybean donation at your farm or another location. We will also be taking donations at ADM in Viroqua and Asbury Grain in Viroqua where an account designated for the Viroqua FFA Chapter is set up. When unloading your grain, please let the elevator know of your donation wishes. Your donation is tax deductible under IRS rules.
If you would like to have your corn or soybeans picked up or if you would like more information on how to donate, please contact Lloyd Hardy, Viroqua FFA Advisor at (608) 606-1301 or [email protected]. We hope you will consider donating a bushel or more to the Viroqua FFA Grain Drive and help us serve the community and help others.
