Deere Adds to Air-seeding Line

John Deere introduces 1870 air hoe drill.

John Deere's new 1870 Air Hoe Drill joins a long line of air-seeding tools from Moline with models in two widths.

A three-section 40-foot drill and a five-section 56-foot drill both fold to 20 feet for easy transport. A rigid three-rank frame provides strength for even and consistent depths on contoured fields.

John Deere's new 1870 Air Hoe Drill extends a long line of air-seeding tools with two widths designed for

consistent seed placement on rolling fields. Adjustable openers with independent downforce add to the new line's flexibility.

The new 1870 features an independently controlled hydraulic shank opener, Conserva Pak, which enables the placement of fertilizers up to four inches away from the seed. Another feature is easily adjustable openers with independent downforce can be set from 100 to 800 lbs. with a trip clearance to meet seeding conditions.

The 1870 is fully compatible with Deere's GreenStar 2 precision systems.
