The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection released today the nine districts involved in the 2011 Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board elections (see state map). DATCP, which oversees the nomination and election process, is inviting dairy producers who have an interest in serving the state's dairy industry and shaping its future to serve as a director.
Each year, a portion of WMMB's 25-member board is elected to three-year terms. All director nominees must be active dairy producers who sell milk into commercial channels and live in the district where they are nominated.
DATCP will mail election announcement postcards by Feb. 5 to all licensed producers living within each of the nine affected districts. If you didn't get a postcard or would just like to learn more, contact Noel Favia at (608) 224-5140 or [email protected]. In addition, information about the election and director responsibilities can be found at: www.wmmb.com/elections.
