If you've never learned to make a pie from scratch, here's your chance. The Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center is offering a pie-making class called "Make, Bake & Take" on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Under the guidance of Discovery Center Taste-Test Kitchen Baker Donna Stebbins, participants will make and bake a cranberry apple pie to take home. Donna will also have a variety of other cranberry pies available from 9 a.m. to noon that day for visitors to the Discovery Center to sample.
The pie-making class is limited to eight people. The cost is $8 for Friends of the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center and $10 for non-members. Participants are asked to bring a rolling pin and two mixing bowls. Pie tins and all ingredients will be provided.
The Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center is housed in a historic cranberry warehouse in downtown Warrens. For more information or to register for the class, call (608) 378-4878. The registration deadline is Oct. 25.
