Corn, Soy, Wheat Sales Higher in USDA Weekly Export Report

USDA weekly export sales meet trade expectations

Export sales of 2014/2015 U.S. corn, soybeans, and wheat were up from the previous week, USDA's weekly export report showed on Friday, with volumes matching trade forecasts.

Chicago futures moved lower after the export numbers, but the dip may have been related to other factors such as improving harvest weather and a stronger dollar. Corn futures were down about 2 cents per bushel, soybeans down 5 cents, and Chicago SRW wheat down 1.

Corn sales of 75.7 million bushels more than doubled the previous week's business. Top buyers were Mexico, Japan and Venezuela. The report also showed a net sale of 20.1 million bushels of 2015/2016 corn to Mexico.

Soymeal sales of 195,900 metric tons were down from a week ago with Thailand and Colombia the top destinations. Also, 1,700 metric tons of 2015/2016 soymeal went to Mexico and Canada..

Weekly wheat export sales of 16.7 million bushels were led by Nigeria, Yemen, and Japan. Net sales of 1.47 million bushels of 2015/2106 wheat went to Nigeria.
