Interested in exploring ways to sustain the family farm? Concerned about managing waste? Want to know more about renewable energy opportunities? Then you may want to mark your calendar and plan to attend the second annual conference "Exploring the Profit Potential of Cow Manure," slated for March 6 in Madison.
Organizers say participants will hear from other Wisconsin farmers using technology to generate electricity, manage manure and enhance cow comfort. There will also be information about the latest in manure bio-conversion technologies ranging from composting to digestion.
The conference is sponsored by the Wisconsin Agricultural Stewardship Initiative in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and the University of Wisconsin Extension.
