Bobcat Ends OEM Tractor Agreement

Bobcat Ends OEM Tractor Agreement

Bobcat is allowing its five-year agreement to sell compact tractors wearing its badges.

Bobcat, known for its skid-steer and track loaders, jumped into the compact tractor market five years ago with a five-year agreement with an outside vendor to build the tractors under the Bobcat name. That agreement is ending, and Bobcat is not renewing.

Company memos about the change in direction say, "We have made the decision to exit the tractor business and focus on our core products."

Bobcat will continue serving acreage owners, contractors in the buildings and grounds and landscape maintenance business, and personal use markets with utility vehicles, utility work machines and skid-steer loaders.

Bobcat is leaving the compact tractor business to concentrate on its loaders, utility vehicles and utility work machines. The company entered the tractor market five years ago.

Officials say Bobcat will work with its dealers to assist in selling the remaining tractor inventory and to help transition from that part of the business.
