Belarus-based Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) tractors have returned to the U.S. and Canada, the company said this week.

MTZ is the world's largest tractor exporter. With more than $1.2 billion in annual sales, the plant is producing more than 60,000 tractors annually, exporting to over 100 countries worldwide.

MTZ Equipment Ltd. is the exclusive distributor in the U.S. and Canada of Belarus-made Tractors.

Since 1968, more than 50,000 Belarus tractors were sold in the USA and Canada. Belarus-made tractors have "legendary reliability," MTZ said.

"The engine and transmission were designed and built to ensure years of worry free performance in the vast fields of Russia, where technical service is not always readily available on a 24/7 basis," a statement said.

MTZ says tractors and parts are available from over 50 qualified dealers across USA/Canada, and the 2015 line-up includes models in 84-212 hp range, to be later augmented with 300 and 350 hp units.

Tractors offer simple mechanical Tier 3 engines on all models, with no computers, and no complicated sensors/electronics, MTZ said.

A 150 hp 6 cyl MTZ 1523 starts at $83,800, compared with $120-160,000 from most other brands, MTZ said.

Parts support is offered for both the old Belarus tractors and current MTZ models, from a USA and Canadian parts warehouse.
