Bech Named Deputy Administrator for Biotechnology

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has selected Rebecca Bech as deputy administrator for Biotechnology Regulatory Services. Bech, who has been serving as acting deputy administrator for BRS, has held several positions ranging from field work to headquarters since joining APHIS in 1986.

"Rebecca has many years of experience with APHIS and has been with BRS since the program's inception in 2002," said APHIS Administrator Cindy Smith. "I can't think of a better person to lead BRS and I'm pleased she's agreed to the challenge."
