Farmers have invested a lot in grain storage in the past few years, which means they've expanded their inventory management needs. Enter Grain Storage Manager, a new app designed for the Apple and Android platforms, that lets you create 'virtual' binds setting the capacity, location and crop. Once you set that up, you can track the crop loaded in or loaded out throughout the year.

The graphical representation of grain in storage by bin shows percentage withdrawn so it's quick to see where you stand from an inventory standpoint by bin location. This phone-focused app makes it easy to keep track of loads into your bins or loads into the local elevator. All the data is stored in the cloud and is immediately available. The system takes away the guesswork of how much you've hauled out, or tracking scale tickets.

The GSM app's features include calculating shrinkage, bin capacity and setting reminders to check bins. The user can easily generate a spreadsheet showing each of the bins' data, and the spreadsheet can be emailed to the account holder or shared with other trusted partners. The app is password protected. Learn more at Grain Storage Manager.
