American Ethanol Helping NASCAR 'Go Green'

American Ethanol partners with NASCAR on campaign focusing on environmentally friendly changes

As part of NASCAR's Race to Green initiative kicking off last week, American Ethanol will help promote the sport's use of biofuels across its three national series.

The goal of NASCAR Race to Green is to highlight the accomplishments of green programs that NASCAR and a wide range of partners have in place to help reduce the sport's carbon footprint.

American Ethanol has partnered with NASCAR since 2011 to promote the use of biofuels like Sunoco Green E15, a biofuel blended with 15% American-made ethanol from American-grown corn.

American Ethanol says the biofuel reduces greenhouse gases by 20% and has been shown to increase horsepower and performance.

"This partnership with NASCAR Green truly shows the sport's commitment to preserving our environment. Each race further proves ethanol is a reliable, high-performance fuel that has revitalized our rural communities and created more than 400,000 jobs across the country," said Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy.

The NACAR Race to Green program will run until April 25. Additional Race to Green efforts include various sustainability certifications for raceways, office buildings and racing team garages.

American Ethanol is comprised of ethanol partners New Holland Agriculture North America, National Corn Growers Association, Growth Energy and many other ethanol stakeholders.
