Farmland values declining, right to farm legislation in Oklahoma and drought in South Africa.

3. The decline in farmland values continued in the first half of 2016, according to Farm Credit Services of America. The greatest decline has been in Iowa, where farmland values are off 20% from the market’s peak in 2013. – Farm Futures

4. South Africa, which showed a marked decline in rainfall last year, may not import enough white corn to meet consumer’s needs. – Bloomberg

5. What’s Monsanto to do? Bayer raised its bid to $125 per share, but what about Monsanto’s plans to partner with BASF? – Farm Futures

6. Voters in Oklahoma will vote on Question 777 on Nov. 8. The question is called the Right to Farm Bill. Oklahoma Farm Bureau supports the measure. – Stillwater News Press

7. USDA increased corn, wheat and soybean exports and domestic use in its Tuesday report. USDA also lowered Brazil’s corn crop. – Farm Futures
