Entries for the Wisconsin 4-H Dairy Quiz bowl contest on Saturday Feb. 5, are due on Jan. 12. The event will be held at John Muir Elementary School in Portage, WI with registration for the event starting at 9:45a.m. The cost for the event will be $10 per team.
In the dairy bowl, contestants will answer a variety of questions about dairy cattle. All questions will come from the sources listed in the official dairy bowl rules which can be found on the Wisconsin Dairy Youth website at www.uwex.edu/ces/dairyyouth/qbowl.php. Teams compete in a double elimination format by giving oral answers to questions posed by the moderator. There are three divisions; Junior, Senior and Mixed which may be composed of both Junior and Senior aged participants. Junior participants must be aged 9-13 on Jan. 1, 2011 and Senior participants must be aged 14-18 on Jan. 1, 2011.
The winning Senior dairy bowl team will represent Wisconsin at the Invitational 4-H youth Dairy Bowl Contest at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY.
