2014 Angus Scholarship Applications Due May 1
Angus Foundation and American Angus Auxiliary scholarship application deadline approaching

Students planning to apply for scholarships through the Angus Foundation and American Angus Auxiliary. must ensure submissions are postmarked by May 1, the organizations said Friday.

High school seniors and college students focused on the beef industry are encouraged to apply for the scholarships.

Each year the Angus Foundation offers general scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in higher education. Last year, the organization awarded more than $225,000 in scholarships.

Angus Foundation and American Angus Auxiliary scholarship application deadline approaching

Angus youth may apply for a wide variety of awards, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. As in past years, other specific and special criteria scholarships administered by the Angus Foundation will also be available.

Eligible Angus youth meeting the qualifications for the Angus Foundation's 2014 Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Programs will be considered by the Angus Foundation's Scholarship Selection Committee. Scholarship recipients will be recognized during the 2014 National Junior Angus Show in Indianapolis, Ind.

Applications must be postmarked by May 1, and mailed to the Angus Foundation, 3201 Frederick Ave., Saint Joseph, MO 64506.

Angus Auxiliary scholarships
The American Angus Auxiliary is committed to supporting Angus youth in their future endeavors and will once again award 10 scholarships at the 2014 NJAS. To be eligible, each state auxiliary nominates one male and one female applicant to the national contest. The American Angus Auxiliary then awards scholarships to the top five male and top five female applicants.

The winners will be announced during the 2014 NJAS closing ceremonies. In addition, the top five female scholarship winners are eligible for the 2014-2015 Miss American Angus competition, which takes place in November.
