2 Year Old Holstein Tops Wisconsin Spring Special Sale

Sale averaged $3,920 on 83 lots.

The Wisconsin Spring Special sale was held March 30 at the Great Northern Sales Arena in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. A large crowd gathered while some of the states best cows and heifers paraded the ring and auctioneer Tom Morris let the gavel fly.

The sale averaged $3,920 on 33 cows, 45 heifers, and 5 first choice female lots. The sale topper of the day was Budjon-Dannys Gib Autumn-ET at $14,000, a recently fresh 2-year-old that was purchased by Andy Wolf of Oconto Falls, WI. The second high seller was a first choice female from Valley-Drive DM Zamantha-TW at $9,700, which was purchased by the Friends of Judy Syndicate in Columbia City, Ind. Coming in as third high seller was MS Regancrest D Stylish-ET*TV at $9,200. She was purchased by Joseph and Hidde Osinga of Hico, Texas.

The Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association also held its annual embryo fundraiser. Embryo contributors included Honeycrest Farms of Spring Valley, Bob Gates of Poy Sippi, and Paul Buhr, Jr., of Viroqua. The Rickert Brothers of Eldorado, JR Boyke of Fond du Lac, and Ted Thompson of Barneveld purchased the embryo packages and all proceeds made will benefit the Junior Activities Fund.
