Results are in from one of the biggest land auctions ever in North Dakota.
The press is reporting that 16,626 acres of pasture and cropland in Stutsman County, N.D., brought an average of $600 per acre – or $10 million – at the auction.
The land belonged to the former Walter Holzworth. It was sold in 39 parcels to 15 different buyers. More than 500 people attended the auction, which was held in the Johnstown Civic Center.
Holzworth was 79 when he died and had put together 106 quarters of land in his lifetime.
