2010 Pigposium: Resistant pigweed and residual herbicides

For years, Dr. Jason Norsworthy, associate professor of weed science with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture, has researched Mid-South weed resistance in the field and greenhouse. At the recent “Pigposium” in Forrest City, Arkansas, Norsworthy spoke to a packed house on “moisture requirements for herbicide activation.” The symposium focused on helping farmers and consultants deal with herbicide-resistant Palmer amaranth, a pigweed. In this interview with Delta Farm Press, Norsworthy hits on some of the key points from his presentation.
