Kentucky farmers hadn’t grown industrial hemp in more than half a century, but interest in the crop renewed in 2014 after some legislative groundwork led the way in the state. With research for the pharmaceutical use of hemp taking root, Kentucky farmers interested in growing hemp face a challenge: harvesting the flower on top of the giant plant.
