Fertilizer has always been an essential piece in the crop production puzzle if you are after top yields. With the sudden, steep rise in commercial fertilizer prices over the past year and no end in sight, it’s more critical than ever to place every pound of fertilizer in the right spot at the right time to get maximum return on each dollar invested.

Ag companies are responding by introducing products that help you reach that goal. Kuhn introduced a dry fertilizer spreader equipped with precision technology so advanced the company named it the Advance fertilizer spreader. It’s worth a look if you apply your own dry phosphate, potash and other fertilizer products.

Unverferth is offering new products in this field as well, including a liquid fertilizer applicator sized for smaller fields. It still carries 1,000 gallons but matches up well in fields planted with a 12-row planter. On the other end of the spectrum, the Ohio-based company introduced a new undercarriage option for larger versions of its Pro-Force fertilizer spreader offering. The Equalizer track option improves flotation and reduces side-to-side motion when operating on a contour.
