Self-propelled Deere sprayers

Speed-up and simplify spraying with the new line of intelligent application, self-propelled sprayers from John Deere. The new 30 Series that includes the 4730, 4830 and 4930 models feature precision guidance, mapping and variable rate software. The sprayers are designed to meet the needs of growers and commercial applicators. "These machines truly are the most efficient sprayers ever built by John Deere," reports Craig Weynand, product marketing manager, John Deere Des Moines Works.

The 4730 sprayer is rated at 245 hp. and is equipped with an 800-gal. tank, 100-ft. boom and an improved front-entry cab with operator-friendly controls. It retails for $222,133.

The mid-sized 4830 sprayer features a PowerTech Plus 275-hp engine, 1,000-gal. tank and 100-ft. boom. A GreenStar 2 monitor with precision guidance mapping and variable rate software is installed in the cab to help the operator cover more ground accurately. Boom Trac Pro automatic boom leveling is an option for this model. The 4830 sprayer retails for $247,413.

At the top of the line, the 4930 sprayer is powered by a 325-hp. engine and is equipped with a 1,200-gal. tank and a 120-ft. boom. A 300-cu.-ft. drybox may be added to handle 10 tons of fertilizer. An option on the drybox is the MultiApplier that will allow spreading two dry products simultaneously. A SpreadStar Controller controls the application from the cab for single and dual products or fertilizer at 20 mph with a spread pattern up to 105 ft. The basic 4930 sprayer retails for $297,243.
