Select Max Herbicide with Inside Technology from Valent U.S.A. Corporation is now labeled to control volunteer corn, including volunteer Roundup Ready corn, prior to replanting corn.

“Select Max's new label can help farmers control the remnants of that first corn crop in preparation for a replant,” said Jamie Nielson, Select Max brand manager.

The need to replant corn can occur as a result of crop loss from weather. “Select Max provides fast, effective control of volunteer corn,” Nielson said. “Select Max at 6 ounces per acre controls up to 12-inch volunteer corn, including volunteer Roundup Ready corn, and allows farmers to replant the corn crop in just six days. This helps farmers maximize their corn yield by controlling these volunteer plants.”

Farmers who use Select Max in a replant situation will see fast control since the product has Inside Technology — a unique, patent-pending formulation which delivers faster uptake and translocation throughout the plant.

“University studies show that 90 percent of Select Max can be found in treated volunteer corn in the first 60 minutes versus just 35 percent for other clethodim products,” said Greg Rich, Select Max product development manager.
