Seed Monitoring

A scale kit that lets a grower stay in the tractor cab to check the seed levels of a John Deere drill is available from Scale-Tec. The John Deere 1990 scale kit allows an operator to check scale and acre counters and monitor seed rates from the cab. The kit includes four load cells, wiring, mounting brackets and a waterproof, backlit readout. Installation does not involve welding or drilling and takes around four hours. It fits several John Deere models, including the box drill, 1690 and 1890 CCS drills and 1770 and 1790 CCS planters.

Price of a kit for the John Deere 30-ft. 1990 CCS Air Drill is $2,324. Contact your local John Deere dealer, call Scale-Tec at 319/462-2344, visit or, or circle 178.
