New larger, cleaner Magnums from Case IH

New larger, cleaner Magnums from Case IH

Case IH shipped the first in a lineup of new high-horsepower tractors that meet the EPA’s Tier 4A emissions regulations, which take effect in January. New models include the new Magnum 180, 190, 210 and 225. The company says it will introduce larger Magnum models and a new generation of Steiger 4-wd tractors next.

The tractors are equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, which treats emissions after they leave the engine with a liquid blend of urea and water. Case IH claims SCR cuts operating costs by 10% over previous Case IH models as a result of better fuel economy and fewer required oil changes.

The company has presold more than 750 Magnum tractors, which range in price from about $175,000 to $250,000. Orders for big diesel tractors have tripled from a year ago, Case says. For more information, visit www.caseih.com.
