But farmers in the southern part of the state – where the weather has not always been kind – are a resilient group. Veteran Louisiana grower Jimmy Hoppe discussed the prospects for the rice industry and some new rice varieties in this interview at the USA Rice Outlook Conference in Austin, Texas.
